Dr. Otero is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) with a major in Chemistry, graduating summa cum laude. After that, he was accepted to the Medical Sciences Campus of UPR School of Dental Medicine where he obtained his doctorate in dental medicine (D.M.D.) graduating top of his class and selected to be part of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Otero then moved to New York City to complete a one-year residency in general dental practice at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell. He was accepted to the Medical Sciences Campus UPR School of Dental Medicine where he completed a four-year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Otero is an Associate Professor in the Dental Department at Wyckoff Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. He is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the NJ Dental Association, and the NJOMS Association, as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Outside work, Dr. Otero enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, running, and bike riding. He has completed the New York and Chicago marathons. He loves to travel and experience new cultures and food.
